TODAY IN DESIGN → 1930

The first color sound cartoon, "Fiddlesticks," produced by Ub Iwerks, is released.

Iwerks was a pioneering animator, having been a key contributor to the creation of Mickey Mouse while working with Walt Disney.

The innovations in "Fiddlesticks" would lay groundwork for the future of animation, influencing design, color theory, and storytelling in the medium.
